Nathan G. Frautschy, age 82 of Monroe, WI, died on Monday, May 17, 2010 at his home. Nathan was born April 12, 1928 in Green County, Wisconsin, the son of Harvey and Helen (Hardyman) Frautschy.
He graduated from Orangeville, IL High School in 1947 and married Phyllis J. Reed on June 5, 1949. They were dairy farmers in Stephenson County for many years before moving to Monroe.
Nathan and Phyllis were members of the Monroe United Methodist Church where they were church custodians for several years. He also worked for Horstmeier construction in Rock City, delivered the Monroe Times, and mowed the East Clarno Church Cemetery.
Nathan was an only child. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Monroe; three sons, Rodney (Cheryl) Frautschy of Poynette, WI, Gregory (Brenda) Frautschy of Davis, IL, David (Judi) Frautschy of Rockton, IL; a daughter, Susan Frautschy Potter of Garden Prairie, IL; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Rev. Randy Booth of the Monroe United Methodist Church will officiate with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
