Nancy L. Pilz, age 75 of Monroe, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Monroe Manor Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 22, 1941 in Monroe, the daughter of Ellwood "Woody" and Marvel (Yost) Fritz. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1959. Nancy married Harold "Bud" Pilz Jr. on October 12, 1963 in Monroe. She worked at the Water Department for the City of Monroe for over 20 years. Nancy was a devoted member of Monroe United Methodist Church, where she served on the finance committee for many years: was a member of the Monroe Woman's Club for 40 years, serving as president for 2 terms, as well as serving on the District and State Boards. She was Co-chair with Monda Hess for the Christmas Cheer Box; she served on the Board for the Behring Senior Center and Friends of the Behring Senior Center. Nancy was very active in the community and was involved in many clubs, organizations, projects and events.

She is survived by her husband, Bud of Monroe; son, Jeffrey of Aurora, IL and cherished grandson, Jeremy of Bloomingdale, IL; sisters: Linda (Keith) Kundert of Monroe, Sue Blaser of Monroe, and Jean (Ken) Grob of Madison; life-long friends, Carla Hartwig and Pena Rosa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a great niece, Kylie Kundert.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 14, 2016 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held Friday, from 9:00 am until the time of service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Nancys' name to, Monroe United Methodist Church, Friends of the Behring Center, Monroe MAC, or Monroe Hospice.
