Nada A. Meyers

Nada A. Meyers, age 81 of Monroe, died on Monday, August 4, 2008 at her home. She was born on September 8, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Elsie (Brown) Potter. She attended Cadiz grade school and Winslow High School. Nada and Arthur Hanson were married and later she married Edwin Meyers. She farmed in her earlier years and later worked for Structo in Freeport, IL, Dutch's Inn, Advance Transformer, the V.F.W., and GreenCo Industries, all in Monroe. Nada was a longtime member of Martintown Community Church, the Martintown Church Willing Workers, currently a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church, Sons of Norway and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Nada is survived by her children, Gary Hanson of McConnell, IL, James (Sandy Boos) Hanson of Lena, IL, Michael Hanson of Monroe, David (Becky) Hanson of Freeport, IL, Sharon (Tom) Rufenacht of Monroe, Linda (Barry) Dinges of Orangeville, IL; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Franklin (Glenda) Potter of Browntown and several nieces, nephews and her special friend, Meika, the cat. She was predeceased by her parents and her husbands.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, 1455 Mansion Dr., Monroe. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Haworth of Hope Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be in the Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township, Green County. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Nada's memory.
