MONROE — A Shullsburg man has been charged with possessing and distributing child pornography, following an investigation from the Green County Sheriff’s Office.

Accused is Marcus T. Gordon, age 18, whose last known address was Shullsburg, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office, though Wisconsin Circuit Court Access records show a recently updated address in Monticello.

On Nov. 5, the Green County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children related “to the possession and distribution of child pornography, reportedly originating from a Village of Monticello location,” according to a press release.

Acting on the tip, local detectives on Dec. 21 obtained an arrest warrant issued by the Green County District Attorney’s Office for six-counts of Class C Felony Sexual Exploitation of a Child — Produce, Perform, etc.

On December 22, deputies located Gordon at a Monroe business and took him into custody. Gordon remains in the Green County Jail until he makes an initial court appearance, according to a statement from Jeff Skatrud, Green County Sheriff.
