Michael D. Lindsey, age 60, of Monroe, died Sunday June 26, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 14, 1951 in Illinois, the son of Homer and Edna (Kiesbo) Lindsey. He grew up in Brodhead and graduated from Brodhead High School. Mike worked for TDS Telecom for many years. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Mike was a member of the Mill Road Band, where he performed in area nursing homes, bringing joy to the residents and staff. Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Marley of Monroe; his father Homer Lindsey; 3 sons: Ryan (Rachelle) Lindsey, Adam (Heidi) Lindsey, and Ben (Kristen) Lindsey; step-daughter, Whitney Driver; grandchildren: Logan and Jaden Lindsey; sister, Karen Lindsey, Patricia (Terry) Gardner, Debra Johnson; and a brother, William (Penny) Lindsey; nieces and nephews, Travis Taylor, Deanne Hicok, Michael Johnsen and Lindsey Johnsen. He is preceded in death by his mother Edna Lindsey. We're proud of the fight he fought and we will miss him.
A memorial service will be held Friday evening, July 1, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Reverend William T. Mike Heath officiating. A visitation will be held Friday, from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. Memorials may be given in Michael's name to either the Music Arts or Parkinsons Foundation.
