Maynard A. Kittelsen age 93 of Monroe, Wisconsin formerly of Albany, WI died Friday, December 20, 2013 at his home. He was born December 4, 1920 on the family farm at rural Albany, WI the son of Andrew and Daisy (Anger) Kittelsen, graduated from Albany High School in 1938, and attended University of Wisconsin.
Maynard then returned to the homestead farm in Albany township where he farmed until the age of 85. He then moved to Monroe where he lived out his remaining years. Maynard was known by all as a quiet and generous person who contributed greatly to his community and church. He was a lifelong member of Norwegian & Albany Lutheran Church, active member of Albany Masonic Lodge #36 F&AM, and enjoyed bowling, softball, & gardening.
Surviving are many cousins, Kenneth Kittelsen of Verona, WI, Pauline Goecks of Mountain Home, AR, Suanne Habbley of Woodstock, IL, J. B. Frenzel of San Diego, CA, & Susan Anderson of Woodstock, IL; Greg Kittelsen of Shell Lake, WI, James "Jeff" Kittelsen of Minneapolis, MN, & Brad Kittelsen of Lake Forest, CA. He was predeceased by his Parents. Maynard will be greatly missed by family, friends, and a long-time care giver, Joyce Ethridge.
Masonic Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe with Visitation from 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Albany Lutheran Church with Pastor David Natzke officiating. Burial will follow in Norwegian Settlement Cemetery, rural Albany.
Family will greet friends after the graveside service at Albany Lutheran Church.
A Memorial Fund is being established in Maynard's memory.
