Maryon S. Wand, age 77 of Monroe died Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Monroe after battling cancer for two years. Maryon was born July 2, 1933 in Monroe, the daughter of Ralph and Lena (Indergand) Herfel.

She graduated from Monroe High School in 1951. Maryon married Anthony A. Wand on May 16, 1953 at St. Victor Catholic Church in Monroe. She worked at Dormans Cheese for many years and most recently was employed at the Chalet Cheese Factory.

She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe Women of the Moose Chapter #599, and the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed quilting, dancing, playing cards, and traveling.

Maryon is survived by her husband, Tony Wand of Monroe; two children, Nicholas (Deborah) Wand of South Wayne and Muffy Noel (Kris) Rhyner of Delavan, WI; six grandchildren, Jeremy Wand, Danelle (Jon) Curran, Blake Wand, and Chad, Aaron, and Amanda Rhyner; three greatgrandchildren, Haley and Isabelle Wand, and Emily Curran; two sisters, Reva (Roscoe) Kline of Browntown, Judith (Bob) Heitz of Monroe; and a brother, Gordon (Peggy) Herfel of Lakeland, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Raphael Daly Sr.; and a brother, Raphael "Butch" Daly Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe, with Father David Wanish officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe.
