Marvin H. Kramer, age 80 of Janesville, formerly of Monroe, died Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville, surrounded by his family.
Marvin was born April 1, 1931 in Monroe, the son of Henry and Frieda (Kraus) Kramer. He married Janet Farmer in 1956.
Marvin lived in Janesville since 1958 and worked at Certified Parts Corp. (Fox Body) for 55 years until he became ill in 2010.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching old movies. He loved his cats and will always be remembered for his unique laugh.
He is survived by five children, Tina Thoftne, Chris (Scott) Olin, Tim Kramer, Sandy Yttri, and Jim Kramer, all of Janesville; five grandchildren, Amanda and Tara Kramer, Megan, Rachel, and Austin Olin; his sister, Evelyn Larson of Monroe and her children, Greg, Steven, and Dennis Larson, Lisa Riley, and Lori Weist; and his longtime friend, Roscoe Heimann of Janesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and longtime companion, Marjorie Hagen.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Dennis Perger officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe Moose Lodge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
