Marvel L. Steindorf, age 87, of Monroe, formerly of Albany, died on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Anderson Johnson Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg. She was born on May 21, 1922 the daughter of Alva and Bessie (Stuntz) Smith. She graduated from Morgan Park High School in Duluth, MN.
Marvel Louise and Rolland E. Steindorf were married March 3, 1944 at the Salvation Army in Beloit, WI. Marvel farmed with her husband, worked as a file clerk at the Department of Revenue, was a cook at Judson College and Camp Tamarack. She was a member of Hilltop Community Church in Albany, Gideon's Int'l and attended Monroe Bible Church.
Surviving are her husband Rolland of Albany; sons, Curtis (Mary) Steindorf of Fitchburg, Glenn (Elayne) Steindorf of Sumter, SC; daughters, Shirley (Mike) Alexander of Albany, Connie (Mike) Neisler of Armington, IL; brother, Warren (Diane) Smith of Duluth, MN.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME 1455 Mansion Drive & 18th Avenue in Monroe, WI. with Pastor Dan Krahenbuhl & Pastor Rick Gleason officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Albany.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
