Marjory J. Lilja, 72, Ridott, Illinois, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born January 19, 1936 in Calvin Park, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Margaret A. (Fritz) Mowers. She was a life-long resident of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Married John E. Lilja, Sr. in Durand, Illinois in 1961. He died in October 1977.

Marjory farmed with her husband, was a beautician at the Wagon Wheel Resort in Rockton, Illinois; worked at Blain's Farm and Fleet in Rockford and worked part-time at Olson Well & Pump Commercial Division in Ridott.

She was a member of Winnebago County Farm Bureau and the Moose Lodge in Rockford. Marjory was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whose absence will be missed by all.

Survivors include: sons, Ernie (Mary Beth) Lilja, Ridott, Illinois and John E. (Traci) Lilja, Jr., Davis, Illinois; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother, Margaret Mowers, Foreston, Illinois; sisters, Ann (Ken) Getz, Morton, Illinois, Carol Bates, Galva, Illinois, Betty Osergard, Foreston, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside ceremonies will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Durand Cemetery, Durand, Illinois with Reverend R. Lee Bennight, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Durand, Illinois officiating.
