Marjorie J. Gunser, age 85 of Browntown, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Marjorie was born on January 13, 1931 in Arthur, IL, the daughter of John and Golda (Berryman) Coburn. She graduated from High School in Portage, IN, in 1948 and married Ernest J. Gunser on April 18, 1952 in Michigan. The couple lived in Chicago until moving to Browntown in 1966. Marjorie's passion was gardening and she enjoyed her time as a member of the Cadiz Township Homemakers. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, baking, and watching birds, especially cardinals.

She is survived by her husband, Ernie Gunser of Browntown; three children, Jan Ostby of Colorado, John (Roxanne) Gunser of Louisiana, and Jerry (Kris) Gunser of Westfield, WI; four grandchildren, Justin (Stefanie) Ostby, Kari Ostby, Casey Gunser, and Jordan Gunser; two great grandchildren, Zoe and Ava Ostby; and a sister, Marilyn (Harry) Kasch of CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Rodney Ostby; three sisters and two brothers.

A visitation for Marjorie will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 1329 31st. Ave., Monroe. Online condolences may be sent at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
