Maria Werren, age 89 of Monroe, formerly of South Wayne, died on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on February 3, 1923 in Switzerland, the daughter of Adolph and Ida (Lehnherr) Haeni. Maria and Russell A. Werren, Sr., were married on March 1, 1941. She farmed with her husband in the Browntown area the greater part of her life.

Surviving are her children, Paulette Williams of Browntown, Leslie Werren of Monroe, David (Rhonda) Werren of Argyle, Robert (Nancy) Werren Sr. of Browntown, Chris Werren of South Wayne, Russell (Sheri) Werren of Argyle; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, William (Darlene) Haeni of Marshfield; and a sister, Anna (Don) Tyler of Tucson, Az. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Russell in 2004; daughter, Katheleen Figi; son, Stephen Werren; grandson, Jeffrey Figi; sisters, Ida Haeni, Elsa (Don) Weins; brothers, Adolph, Art, Fritz, Robert Haeni; sons-in-law, Tom Figi and Jasper Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Perger officiating. Burial will be in the LaDue Cemetery in Wayne Township, LaFayette Co. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
