Margaret L. Kubly, age 91, of Monroe, died on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. She was born in Darlington, on October 7, 1922 the daughter of Alfred and Emma Glanzman.
Margaret and Burnett J. Kubly were married on June 6, 1942 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Darlington. They farmed in Brodhead until retiring to Monroe in 1974; she then worked at the Gasthaus Motel.
Margaret was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed playing cards at the Behring Senior center, crocheting, gardening and canning. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the family, especially at Christmas time.
She is survived by her sons, Ron (Diane) Kubly of Brodhead and Curt (Cynthia) Kubly of Antioch, TN; daughters, Shirley Drews of Monroe and Marcia (John) Elsner of Brodhead; sisters, Frieda Wills of Platteville and Rose (Duane) Beach of Monroe; 16 grandchildren, and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Burnett, grandsons, John Elsner and Daniel Drews; sister, Helen Monson; brothers-in-law, Donald Monson and Royal Wills and son-in-law John Drews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church with a Moose Service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Margaret's name.
