Margaret E. Anderson, 87, former Freeport resident, died Wednesday May 11, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, Wisconsin. Margaret was born on August 24, 1928 in Athens, Georgia. She grew up in Athens, Georgia attending rural schools through 8th grade. Margaret married Russell R. Anderson on August 30, 1958 in Athens, Georgia. Mr. Anderson passed away on March 19, 1994. She worked at Burgess Battery, Freeport-Structo, and Micro Switch in the 1960's. From 1969 until 1982 Margaret owned and operator Superior Dairy Ice Cream & Grocery Store. Margaret was a former member of First Lutheran Church in Freeport. She was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan. She loved playing Bingo, going fishing, vacationing to Las Vegas, and watching Tiger Woods golf.

Surviving are her son Andrew (Pam) Anderson of Freeport; daughter, Julie (John) Kruse of Monroe, Wisconsin; grandchildren Kyle (Amber) Kruse and Adam (Georgia) Kruse both of Monroe, Wisconsin; sister-in-law Shirley "June" Eggers of Aurora; and aunt Fannie Reed of South Carolina.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Susan; and one sister, Mildred.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 14, 2016 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Pastor Keith Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
