MONTICELLO - A Monticello man injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday remains in critical condition at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
Anthony J. Lewis was injured when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve at about 6 a.m. Saturday on County C east of Studer Lane in Washington township.
Green County Sheriff's deputies report Lewis' vehicle was eastbound on County C when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, left the north side of the road and overturned. Lewis, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle.
He was transported by Mid-Flight to UW-Hospital.
The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.
According to the sheriff's department press release, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The Monticello Fire Department/First Response and Green County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
