MADISON - A Freeport man injured by a horse Wednesday remains in critical condition at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.

Jeffrey R. Wing, 46, was riding a horse in a driveway in the N6900 block of Wisconsin 69 at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to Green County Sheriff Randy Roderick.

The horse bucked and Wing fell off the horse. He became entangled and Roderick said the horse may have stepped on Wing.

Wing wasn't wearing a helmet or headgear, Roderick said.

Wing was taken to UW-Hospital by Med-Flight.

Green County Emergency Medical Services, Monticello First Response, the Monticello Fire Department and a Green County deputy responded to the scene.
