MONROE - A 27-year-old Monroe man was found dead early Thursday, Dec. 6, by the Veterans' Memorial in Pleasant View Park just west of Monroe.

"It's being investigated as a suicide," said Sheriff Jeff Skatrud.

The man called law enforcement just before he died. Deputies were dispatched to the park at Wisconsin 81 and County N at about 2:30 a.m.

The incident is still under investigation, Skatrud said.
