BLANCHARD TOWNSHIP - A Madison man with three convictions of driving while intoxicated was arrested again on the same charge after a rollover crash Wednesday, Aug. 21, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.
Mark A. Zakula, 60, was taken by Blanchardville EMS to the Monroe Clinic for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash, reported at 5:27 p.m. on Wisconsin 78 in Blanchard Township.
He was then jailed on his fourth offense of intoxicated driving.
Deputies say he was southbound when he lost control on a curve, causing his 1995 Toyota to veer into the ditch and roll. The car was extensively damaged and towed.
The Blanchardville Fire and Police departments and the Argyle Police Department assisted deputies at the scene.
Court records show Zakula was most recently convicted of DWI in 2006 in Dane County. For that offense, which involved the use of a commercial vehicle, he was sentenced to 45 days in jail and had his license revoked three years.
