MONROE - The trial of an Albany man charged with repeated sexual assault of a child ended with a deadlocked jury Saturday.
Larry W. Marti, 63, was charged with repeated sexual assault of a child, a class B felony. He faced up to 60 year in prison.
After a five-day trial, which began March 22, jurors were sent home Friday after failing to reach agreement as to his guilt or innocence. The jury reconvened Saturday. After a few hours they notified Green County Circuit Court Judge James Beer that they weren't able to reach agreement. Beer declared a mistrial.
The court scheduled a May 25 district attorney conference. At that time the court could schedule another court date for Marti.
Marti remains free on a $15,000 signature bond.
