M. Christine "Chris" Adolphson, age 60 of Monroe, died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1952, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Reger) Korback. She is a graduate of St. Bedes Academy in Eau Claire and South West Technical College in Fennimore. Chris and Nils Adolphson were married on May 24, 1997 in Monroe. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish.
Chris worked from August of 1972 until present at the Swiss Colony Data Center as an IT Operations Manager. She had the opportunity to see the progression of computer technology throughout the years at the Swiss Colony. Chris loved traveling with her husband Nils. On several occasions they traveled throughout Europe and the Scandinavian countries and the U.S. She loved New Orleans with its history, culture and excitement. She enjoyed researching genealogy, tracing the Korback family roots. She was a gardener, especially tending the spring flowers, she was a Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Korback of Monroe; brother, Gene (Kathy) Korback of Beloit; sister, Lorie (Jack) Fitzsimmons of Dallas, TX; nieces and nephews, Eddie Korback, Don Korback, Jr., Sherri Korback, Jack Fitzsimmons, Jr., Kathleen Fitzsimmons, Earl Fitzsimmons and Cheryl McKee; also best friend, Ann Wells. She is predeceased by her father, Frank; husband, Nils; brother, Edward Korback and his wife Judy and their son James, brother, Donald Korback; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Chris had an immeasurable zest for life. She loved people and had a wide group of friends and colleagues. She will be missed by all.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is serving the family.
