Lucy M. Keegan age 78 of Monroe, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, following a long battle with cancer. Lucy was born at home on May 2, 1934 in Argyle, the daughter of Vincent and Nellie (Corbin) Conway. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1952 and married Nathan J. Keegan on April 24, 1954 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle. Lucy and Nathan moved to the Keegan home farm in Monroe Township in 1954. Following Nathan's death on January 29, 2002, Lucy continued to live on the farm until entering Pleasant View in November of this year. Lucy was employed in the Housekeeping department at St. Clare Hospital for several years until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church, Green County Homemakers, enjoyed bowling, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her annual Fourth of July party at the Keegan farm.

She is survived by six children, Larry (Terri) Keegan of Monroe, Gary (Laurie) Keegan of Monticello, Eugene Keegan, Marilyn (John) Rupnow, Keith Keegan, and Kevin Keegan, all of Monroe; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Connie) Conway; a brother-in-law, Russell Severson; and a sister-in-law, Leona Kubly, all of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, David Keegan in 1978; and a sister, Ellen Flannery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 12:00 p.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Larry Bakke, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited by the Catholic Daughters Court Mazzuchelli at 8:00 p.m. To share a memory or sign the guestbook go to www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
