MONROE - Louis W. Pintar 84, Monroe, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, after a brief illness. The son of Luka and Ana (Banja) Pintar, he was born in Milwaukee on October 11, 1926.

Louis was educated in Milwaukee Schools and served in the Army Air Force in 1945 and 1946, stationed in Alaska. He attended Marquette University, graduating in 1951 with a BA in Journalism. He married Ruth Foulker on August 30, 1952. They lived in New York City for many years, where Louis was employed at Barnes and Noble Publishers. After returning to Wisconsin Louis was employed at Oaktron Industries, Goetz Theater and Value Village.

Louis is survived by his wife Ruth, Monroe; three daughters, Mary Koenig, Monroe; Kathryn (Howard) Silvestre, Milwaukee and Elisa (David) DeBoer, Manchester, MO; one son, Steve, of Madison; four grandsons, Brian and Jon Koenig and Jack Wandfluh, Monroe; and Josiah DeBoer, St Louis; one granddaughter, Minda Silvestre, Milwaukee; two great-grandsons, William and Theodore DeBoer, St. Louis; a brother, George (Shirley) Pintar, Milwaukee; his sister-in-law, Marian Foulker, Monroe, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luka and Ana Pintar.

Louis was a movie buff and enjoyed watching, collecting and researching movies. He also enjoyed creative writing, reading, spending time on the Internet, good conversation, classical music and opera and time spent with his children and grandchildren.

There will be no visitation and no funeral, as Louis requested. A Private family service will be held at a later date.

Louis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
