Loudon A. Westgard Jr. age 51 of Monroe, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at his home. He was born on July 16, 1960 in Monroe, the son of Loudon and Gladys (Frei) Westgard Sr. He graduated from Monroe High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1979 to 1983. Loudon married Alice Lea Best on April 8, 1979 in Monroe. Loudon worked in Maintenance and Janitorial services for Oscar Mayer Foods in Madison. He was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church, U.S. Bowling Assoc., and United Foods Commercial Worker's Union.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of Monroe; his mother, Gladys M. (Frei) Westgard of Monroe; son, Loudon (Elizabeth) Westgard III of Portsmouth, VA; daughters: Melissa (Stephen) Peterson of Stoughton, WI, Rose (Stephen) Brown, Browntown, WI, Rebecca (Cesar) Navarro, Monroe; a sister, Margaret (Marty) Cooper of Freeport, IL; 3 brothers: Tim (Rhonda) Westgard of Ft. Meyers, FL, Alan (Marlynn) Westgard of Bremerton, WA, and Richard (Dodi) Westgard, Monroe; 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1995.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Reverend Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Monroe. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.
