Lois M. Hannes, 84, of Albany passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Valley Park Assisted Living in Albany.

Lois was born June 5th 1932 in Hollandtown, WI. She grew up in Brodhead, then married Carl George Hannes Jr. on August 31st, 1958. The couple move to Albany and settled on the family farm the remainder of her life.

Lois started a career in banking at the 1st National Bank in Monroe then worked for many years at the Bank of Albany where she retired. Lois also worked lovingly alongside her husband on the family farm where they became relatively famous for the Allis Chalmers tractors proudly displayed along Highway 59. She raised three children of her own and was "mom" to many others. After retirement from banking and farming, Lois took many trips to Minnesota to visit her two grandsons. Lois loved to garden when she was home and was a member of St Patrick's church.

Lois took special care of many family members, sister Helen, nieces, nephews, mother in law, and family friends in the community. On the farm there was always an extended family member or friends around which made for a lot of shenanigans on the Hannes Farm.

She is survived by her son Christian Hannes of Albany, a daughter Corrine (Chip) Solner, Son in law Dave Solner, two grandsons Stone and Cole of Apple Valley, Minnesota, sister Carol McCarl of Salem Oregon and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday May 13th at St Patrick's Cemetery, Albany, WI with father Michael Moon presiding. A celebration of life with a luncheon will follow immediately after at the Hannes Farm in Albany till 4:30PM.

Lois is preceded in death by her brother Dan, husband Carl, Sister Helen Broeren, and son Dan.

Special thanks to John and Heidi Lacy, the staff at Valley Park of Albany, Agrace Hospice Care, Stoughton Home Health Care and Shriner-Ager-Gohlke Funeral Home for all their help with Lois over the past several years.
