Green County Sheriff
On October 19:
● At approximately 4:11 p.m., Deputies responded to the N4100 block of State Highway 69, Town of Monroe, for a report of a two vehicle crash. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Wytney M Schilt, 29, of Monroe was southbound on State Highway 69 when the vehicle in front of her came to a stop. Another vehicle operated by Logan W Lochner, 26, of Monroe was southbound on State Highway 69, behind Schilt. Lochner reported being unable to stop and struck Schilt’s vehicle. Schilt and Lochner reported no injuries, both were wearing their seatbelts, and no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Both vehicles sustained functional damage and were removed from the scene.
On October 20:
● At 9:52 p.m., Deputies conducted a security check at Liberty Pole Park, in the Town of Brooklyn, deputies located an occupied vehicle. Further investigation resulted in Elizabeth R. Wicik, 22 of Brooklyn, being cited for Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wicik was released pending court.
On October 22:
● At 3:26 p.m., Deputies along with Argyle EMS and Argyle Fire Department responded to the W7600 block of County Highway C, in the Town of Adams for a single vehicle rollover crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Megan L. Anderson 18, of Stoughton was traveling eastbound, when Anderson became distracted and entered the south ditch. Anderson over-corrected resulting in the vehicle overturning and coming to rest on its roof. Anderson sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Anderson reported wearing her seatbelt and the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
On October 25:
At 5:19 p.m., Deputies responded to the W6500 block of State Highway 11, in the Town of Monroe for a traffic complaint for a vehicle driving erratically and nearly causing several accidents. The vehicle was located and was stopped for a speed violation. Investigation resulted in the operator, Kathleen M. Kay, 64 of South Wayne, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (2nd-Alcohol) and Bail Jumping. Kay was further cited for Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed. Kay was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.
Monroe Police
On October 19:
● At 7:17 a.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle accident with no reported injuries at the intersection of 26th Avenue and 6th Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Eric D. Ambler, 51, Monroe, pulled out from the stop sign on 26th Avenue on to 6th Street, and collided with a vehicle which was traveling west on 6th Street, operated by Roy L. Naef, 78, Monroe. Both vehicles sustained moderate damages and were operable. Ambler was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign and was released pending a court appearance.
On October 22:
● At 2:19 p.m., officers arrested Amanda R. Nevenhove, 34, Monroe, in the 500 block of 18th Avenue, after being called to assist a citizen. Nevenhoven had an active warrant for arrest through the Green County Sheriff’s Office for child support. Nevenhoven was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
● At 3:16 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of 8th Avenue for a report of a disturbance. The investigation led to the arrest of Gary W. Henning, 59, Monroe, on a charge of physical abuse to a child. Henning was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.
● At 9:53 p.m., officers arrested Ryan D. Meinert, 42, Monroe, following a traffic offense stop in the 2000 block of 13th Street. Meinert was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-3rd offense and operating left of the center line. Meinert was booked and released to a responsible person pending a court appearance.
Lafayette County Sheriff
On October 19:
● 5:26 a.m. James L Robertson, 39, Shullsburg reported striking a deer on STH 126, Elk Grove Township. No injuries were reported. Robertson’s 2014 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 5:58 a.m. Christine L Douglas, 59, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH G, Kendall Township. No injuries were reported. Douglas’s 2022 Kia received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
● 6:54 a.m. Travis D Skattum, 39, South Wayne reported striking a deer on CTH W, White Oak Springs Township. No injuries were reported. Skattum’s 2022 Subaru received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 7:58 a.m. Caleb W Liddicoat, 23, Hazel Green reported striking a deer on CTH W, Benton Township. No injuries were reported. Liddicoat’s 2015 Jeep received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 2:59 p.m. Darlington Fire Department responded to Dublin RD, Darlington Township for a grain bin fire. Darlington Police assisted on scene.
On October 20:
● 7:40 p.m. David A. Wills, 17, Gratiot reported striking a deer on Meier RD, Wayne Township. Wills’ 2015 Nissan received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
On October 21:
● 1:57 p.m. Belmont Fire responded to Holland RD, Kendall Township for fire in a field.
● 2:30 p.m. Darlington Fire responded to Wardsville RD, Seymour Township for a fire inside a barn. Shullsburg Fire, Lafayette County EMS and a deputy assisted on scene.
● 6:48 p.m. Steven L Dibble, 53, Waunakee reported striking a deer on STH 81, Lamont Township. No injuries were reported and Dibble’s 1972 Ford received severe damage and was towed from the scene.
On October 22:
● 6:03 a.m. Belmont Fire responded to STH 126, Elk Grove Township for a truck fire.
● 5:17 p.m. Belmont Fire responded to Holland RD, Kendall Township for a round baler on fire.
● 7:37 p.m. Christine L Schulz, 61, Blanchardville reported striking a deer on STH 78, Blanchard Township. No injuries were reported and Schulz’s 2021 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
On October 23:
● 7:19 a.m. Benton Fire and Benton First Response responded to STH 11, New Diggings Township for a grain bin on fire. Hazel Green EMS assisted.
● 4:57 p.m. Deputies responded to CTH M, Wiota Township for a restraining order violation.
● 6:50 p.m. Scott J. Wedig, 49, Argyle reported striking a deer on CTH D, Fayette Township. Wedig’s 2021 Kia received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● 7:10 p.m. Brian L. Hill, 62, Kenosha reported striking a deer on STH 11, Wayne Township. Hill’s Western Star semi received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
On October 24:
● 11:40 a.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police on Main ST with a two-vehicle accident.
● 9:39 p.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to STH 81, Seymour Township for a vehicle fire. Deputies and Darlington Police assisted
● 11:28 p.m. Gratiot Fire, Gratiot First Response, and Green County EMS, responded to CTH W, Gratiot Township for a one vehicle rollover. Scott E. Walton, 43, Warren was travelling Eastbound on CTH W when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, entered the ditch, struck a utility pole and rolled his 2008 Nissan. Walton was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Walton’s vehicle received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Alliant Energy and deputies assisted.
On October 25:
● 7:13 a.m. Ryan E Miles, 28, Platteville reported striking a deer on Burr Oak RD, Belmont Township. No injuries were reported. Miles’ 2017 Chevrolet received minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● 3:57 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH K, City of Darlington for a wanted person. As a result, Jon J Simmons, 37, Gratiot was arrested on a valid Lafayette County warrant and transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he resides.
