Lafayette County Sheriff

On Sept.10:

● 11:30 a.m. Belmont Fire and EMS responded to S Mound AV in the Village for a report of smoke.

● 11:35 a.m. Shullsburg Fire responded to Heller CT in the City for a fire alarm.

● 2:07 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH B, Belmont Township for a 911 misdial.

● 4:28 p.m. Tim J Davenport, 57, Freeport, IL was cited for Speeding on CTH W, White Oak Springs Township.

● 4:56 p.m. Kevin C Humphry, 33, Shullsburg was arrested for Bail Jumping and transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.

● 6:11 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 81, Lamont Township for a 911 misdial.

● 6:46p.m. Kathleen I Mathias, 22, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH F, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Mathias’s 2013 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 8:22 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township for a 911 misdial.

● 8:37 PM A deputy responded to STH 11 in the City of Shullsburg for a 911 misdial.

● 9:40 p.m. South Wayne Fire and First Response and Green County EMS responded to STH 11, Wayne Township for a one vehicle accident. Cody A Pendleton, 30, Warren, IL was traveling eastbound on STH 11 in his 2005 Chevrolet when he experienced a medical emergency causing him to exit the roadway and strike a tree. Pendleton received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Pendleton was cited for No Insurance and his vehicle was towed from the scene with severe damage.

● 11:46 p.m. A deputy assisted Darlington Police on STH 81, Darlington Township with a traffic stop.

On Sept. 12:

● 5:46 a.m. A deputy responded to Blackhawk Rd, Shullsburg Township for a 911 misdial.

● 5:47 a.m. A deputy responded to S Van Buren St, Village of Benton for a check welfare. 

● 10:03 a.m. Deputies responded to Main St, Village of Gratiot for a check welfare.

10:09 a.m. Chelsea J Robbins, 32, Shullsburg was arrested at Main St, City of Darlington for a Probation and Parole violation. 

● 2:47 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH M, Town of Wiota to assist with a vehicle unlock. 

● 2:53 p.m. A deputy responded to Dry Bone Rd, Shullsburg Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 4:00 p.m. A deputy responded to W Grove St, Village of South Wayne for an animal problem.  As a result, Clinton M Ladow, 21, South Wayne was cited for No Dog License. 

● 4:44 p.m. Deputies responded to USH 151 for a semi rollover. Keegan C Engelbrecht, 24, Maribel was traveling northbound on USH 151 driving a semi and pulling a trailer of cattle.  While driving northbound, Engelbrecht lost control causing the semi and trailer to exit the roadway and rollover several times and enter the ditch.  The 2014 Peterbilt semi and 2016 Wilcox Trailer, owned by Johnson Farms Trucking LLC, Denmark, received severe damage and was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Mineral Point Police Department, Mineral Point EMS, Mineral Point Fire and the Lafayette County Highway Department assisted on scene. Engelbrecht was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. 

● 6:33 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Gratiot Township for an animal injured in the roadway.

On Sept. 13:

● 3:18 a.m. Lafayette County EMS responded to E Catherine St, City of Darlington for a medical emergency. 

● 3:46 a.m A deputy responded to E Roosevelt St, Benton Township for a check welfare. 

● 5:24 p.m. Claire L Obert, 70, New Glarus reported striking a deer on STH 78, Wiota Township.  Obert’s 2015 Ford received moderate damage and was towed from the scene. 

● 8:17 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Village of South Wayne for a report of theft. 

● 8:39 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway. 

● 1:17 p.m. Deputies responded to N Van Buren St, Village of Benton for a disorderly conduct. 

● 3:16 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH P, Town of Shullsburg for a check welfare. 

● 7:33 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to Miner Way, City of Shullsburg for a medical emergency. 

● 8:47 p.m. Katie L Bartell, 32, Galena IL was arrested by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office on a Lafayette County warrant.  Bartell was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where she remains in custody.

● 10:45 p.m. Deputies responded to W Union St, City of Shullsburg for a disorderly conduct.  As a result, Yelsin A Toj-Godinez, 26, Shullsburg was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property and Battery.   Toj-Godiniz was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he remains in custody.  

On Sept. 14:

● 1:50 a.m  A deputy responded to STH 78, Wiota Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 2:18 a.m. Benton First and Hazel Green EMS responded to E Main ST in the Village for a medical emergency.

● 9:22 a.m. Southwest Health EMS responded to CTH XX, Belmont Township for a medical emergency. A deputy assisted on scene.

● 9:59 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH E, Shullsburg Township for check welfare.

● 10:59 a.m. Deputies responded to E Center ST in the Village of South Wayne for check welfare.

● 1:57 p.m. A deputy responded to S Division ST in the Village of South Wayne for a theft.

● 4:04 p.m. Woodford First and Argyle EMS responded to Thor LN, Wiota Township for a medical emergency.

● 5:35 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 8:22 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to E Water ST in the City for a medical emergency.

● 10:17 p.m. Autumn L Hollenstein, 19, Janesville was cited for Speeding on STH 11, Shullsburg Township.

● 10:29 p.m. A deputy responded to W Catherine ST in the City of Darlington for a citizen assist.

On Sept. 16:

● 12:05 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH Z, Darlington Township for livestock on   the roadway.

● 1:28 a.m. Benton First Response and Hazel Green EMS responded to White St, Village of Benton for a medical emergency.

● 8:43 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH F, Darlington Township for suspicious activity.

● 12:06 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Willow Springs Township for criminal damage to property.

● 2:07 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH O, Town of Kendall for a residential alarm.

● 2:47 p.m. A deputy responded to Bethel Grove Rd, Belmont Township for livestock on the roadway.

● 4:03 p.m. A deputy responded to Washington St, City of Darlington for a citizen’s assist. 

● 4:56 p.m. A deputy responded to E Roosevelt St, City of Cuba City to assist the Cuba City Police Department with a warrant.  As a result, Jeremy J Hefel, 42, Cuba City was arrested and transported to the Grant County Jail to hold for Lafayette County. 

● 6:42 p.m. Deputies responded to Washington St, City of Darlington to assist the Darlington Police Department with a check welfare. 

● 10:09 p.m. Shullsburg EMS responded to E Water St, City of Shullsburg for a medical emergency. 

● 11:30 p.m. Juan R Pineda-Montes, 35, Rewey was cited for Operating without a License on CTH G, Belmont Township. 

● 11:34 p.m. A deputy responded to Lake Rd, Town of Blanchard for a noise complaint. 

● 11:58 p.m. David J Kenniker, 35, Dubuque IA was cited for Speeding on STH 23, Gratiot Township. 


Monroe Police

On Oct. 7

● At approximately 2:09 a.m. officers were investigating a traffic stop in the 800 block of 9th Street when Craig W.R. Thorn, 21, Monroe pulled up beside the traffic stop and parked, blocking the roadway. Contact was made with Craig who was subsequently arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence and Resisting an Officer. Craig posted cashbond and was released to a responsible party/ pending an initial court appearance.

On Oct. 8

● At approximately 1:51 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of 6th Street for Non-Registration of Automobile, investigation into the stop resulted in Janet L. Reddick, 42,  Monroe being arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st Offense. Janet was also cited for Non-Registration of Automobile. Janet was release to a responsible party/ pending an initial court appearance.

● At approximately 3:00 a.m. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of 17th Street for a vehicle that failed to stop at a flashing red light/ at the intersection of State Highway 69 and 21st Street. Investigation into the stop resulted in Jarod N. Amacher, 24, Monroe,  being arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st Offense. Jarod was also cited for Failure to Stop at a Flashing Red Light, Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance/ and Possess Open Intoxicants-Driver. Jarod was released to a responsible party/ pending an initial court appearance. At approximately 3:16 PM/ Officers responded to a report of a retail theft in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West. Investigation resulted in Kaci C. Kuhlemeyer, 24, Nora. Illinois,being arrestedfor Retail Theft (Felony) and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Child. Kaci was taken to the Green County Jail where she was heldpending an initial court appearance.

On Oct 9

● 9:27 a.m., officers arrested Dugan D. Henson,38, Monroe, at a residence in the 2200 block of Haven Lane, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriffs Office on a child support case.Henson was subsequently arrested on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole for a probation violation. Henson was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On Oct 10

● 9:15 a.m., officers arrested BradleyA. Miller ,32,Monroe, in the 900 block of 16th Avenue, on a warrant issued by the Monroe Police Department for failure to appear in court for a prior operating after revocation case. Miller was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On Oct. 13

● 6:16 p.m., officers were called to a two-vehicle hit and run traffic crash, with no reported injuries, which occurred in the 1300 block of 2lst Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Luis A. Chavez Gonzalez (20), Monroe, waswestbound on 2lst Street, and collided with a legally parked and unoccupied vehicle. Both vehicles sustained severe damages and were towed. Chavez Gonzalez was charged with operating while intoxicated-3rd offense, and was also cited for hit and run to an unoccupied vehicle, operating without a valid driver’s license and operating without insurance.

On October 18

● 3:19 p.m., officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 1900 block of llth Avenue. An investigation led to the arrest of ChelseyA. Voigt (28),Mon-roe, on a charge of disorderly conduct and intimidating a victim. Voigt was confined in the Green County Jail pending a court appearance.

On Oct 21:

● At approximately 8:03 a.m.  officers responded to the 2700 block of 8th Avenue for a disturbance. Investigation resulted in Jeffery K. Norton 36, Monroe being arrested for Disorderly Conduct(Domes-tic Related). Jeffery posted cash bond and was releasedpending an initial court appearance.

● At approximately 11:22 p.m.  Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of 6th Street for speeding in excess of the posted zone. Investigation into the stop resulted in Jacob J. Gumness, 26, Monroe,  being arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence 1st Offense. Jacob was also cited for Unreasonable and Imprudent Speed and Driver-Possess Open Intoxicants. Jacob was release to a responsible party pending an initial court appearance.


Monticello Police

On Sept. 16:

● At approximately 12:59 p.m., Offices conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of E. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, Hannah C. Cease, 33, Edgerton was cited for a driver’s seatbelt violation.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On Sept. 17

● At approximately 2:43 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of S. Main Street for a report of criminal damage to a vehicle.  The incident remains under investigation.

On Sept 18

● At approximately 11:06 a.m., Officers were contacted by a citizen in the 300 block of S. Garfield Street for a report of suspicious activity.  The incident remains under investigation. 

On Sept 19

● At approximately 3:38 p.m., Officers were dispatched to State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for a report of a 2 vehicle, motor vehicle crash.  No injuries were reported.  Both vehicles received minor to moderate damage and were driven from the crash scene.  After an investigation was completed, Dalia Marina Lopez Huete of Monroe, 33,  was cited for operating left of center,  operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license, and no vehicle insurance. There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

On Sept 20

● At approximately 7:58 a.m., Officers received a traffic/driving complaint in the 300 block of S. Main Street.  It was reported that vehicles are driving recklessly in the area of the school.  The situation will be monitored.  

At approximately 12:49 p.m., Officers responded within the village for a medical emergency.  Green County EMS and Monticello Fire First Response also responded. 

● At approximately 7:17 p.m., Officers responded within the village for a medical emergency.  Green County EMS and Monticello Fire First Response also responded. 

On Sept 21

● At approximately 7:34 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop for an observed traffic violation on E. Lake Avenue at Main Street..  As a result of the traffic stop, Dalton C. Lehr, 17, of Monticello was cited for failure/improper stop at a stop sign.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

● At approximately 10:29 a.m., Officers received a parking complaint in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  A parking citation for violation of the 2-hour parking ordinance was issued. 

● At approximately 2:05 p.m., Officers received a parking complaint in the 200 block of N. Main Street in the alley.  No parking violations were found. 

● At approximately 3:38 p.m., Officers received a disorderly conduct complaint in the 300 block of S. Main Street.  After checking into the matter there was no violations found and was deemed freedom of speech. 

On Sept.22  

● At approximately 8:39 a.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of N. Pratt Road for an annoying phone call complaint.  Officers were able to speak to the suspect in the matter.  The annoying phone calls has ceased.  

● At approximately 1:27 p.m., Officers received a call in reference to a dog that got loose from a residence in the 100 block of S. Main Street.  While officers were enroute to assist in capturing the dog they were notified that the dog came back home.  No further response was needed.

On Sept. 25

● 7:02p.m., Police responded to the 500 block of 17th St. for the report of a Parking Complaint; a trailer partially in the roadway. The owner was contacted and the trailer was moved.

● 10:05p.m., a 22 year old Brodhead man was arrested in the 1100 block of W 2nd Ave. for Operating While Intoxicated. 

On Sept. 26

● At approximately 3:33 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of N. Pratt Road for a reported 911 call/misdial.  Officers were able to make contact at the location the call was made from.  Everything appeared to be okay.

● 10:45a.m., Police responded to the 700 block of W 2nd Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog bite.This matter was referred to the Green County Health Department.


Green County Sheriff

On Aug 31:

● Deputies responded to the 200 block of Warren St, Village of Albany, for a report of a two vehicle accident with no injuries. During the investigation it was learned a vehicle operated by Sheila A Green, 58, of Albany, was backing from her driveway when she struck a mail truck operated by Robert S. L. Parr, 34, of Janesville. Green and Parr both denied injury, both reported wearing seat belts, and neither had airbag deployment. The vehicles sustained moderate damage.

On Sept. 4:

● At approximately 2:51 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W2900 block of State Highway 92, Town of Exeter, for a headlamp violation. Further investigation resulted in the operator, Jon E. Eichelkraut, 54 of Belleville, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of alcohol — 1st Offense. Jon was also cited for Prohibited Alcohol Concentration and a Headlamp Violation. Jon was released to a responsible party pending a future court appearance. 

● At approximately 9:40 p.m., Deputies and the Brodhead Police Department responded to the Brodhead EMS garage, for a report of an intoxicated male subject that walked in through an unlocked door. The male subject, Randall S. Zuber, 44 of Brodhead, was subsequently arrested for an outstanding warrant through theDepartment of Corrections as well as one charge of Felony Bail Jumping. Randall was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending his initial court appearance.
