Lafayette County Sheriff
On October 30:
● 12:55 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Gratiot Township for a minor two vehicle accident. Carter J Widmeier, 17, East Dubuque, IL was traveling northbound on STH 23 in a 2017 Chevrolet when he crested a hill and sideswiped a 2018 Ford being driven by Jeremy R Schulz, 27, Janesville. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene with moderate damage.
● 5:05 p.m. Woodford Fire responded to CTH Y, Wiota Township for an electrical fire.
● 8:03 p.m. Janelle L Jackson, 35, Shullsburg reported striking a deer on STH 23, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Jackson’s 2020 Kia received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
On October 31:
● 4:55 a.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Kendall Township for a one vehicle accident. Bradly T Lolwing, 25, Platteville was traveling northbound in a 2008 Chrysler when he crossed an icy bridge, lost control and entered the ditch where he struck an embankment. No injuries were reported and Lolwing’s vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage.
● 5:53 a.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to CTH F, Fayette Township for a two vehicle accident. Anthony M Morrone, 17, Darlington was traveling south on CTH F, when he lost control of his 2015 Hyundai due to black ice. Morrone crossed the center line and struck a 2016 Chrysler, traveling north, driven by Cayden L Rankin, 20, Darlington. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene. Both drivers were uninjured. Rankin’s passenger, Parker E Fitzsimons, 20, Darlington was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
● 10:39 a.m. Christopher M Wurtzbacher, 49, Gratiot reported striking a deer on CTH O, White Oak Springs Township. No injuries were reported and Wurtzbacher’s 2008 Mercedes received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● 12:15 p.m. Daniel P Schmidt, 44, Belmont reported striking a deer on CTH G, Willow Springs Township. No injuries were reported and Schmidt’s 2016 GMC received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● 6:32 p.m. Grace L Wiegel, 17, Mineral Point reported striking a deer on STH 23, Willow Springs Township. No injuries were reported and Wiegel’s 2022 Land Rover received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
On November 1:
● 12:02 a.m. Anna E. Fitzsimons, 28, Darlington reported striking a deer on CTH K, Darlington Township. Fitzsimons’ 2016 Toyota received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● 6:50 a.m. Sean R. Goodridge, 26, Cuba City was traveling on CTH H, Benton Township when he lost control of his vehicle, went through an intersection and came to a stop in the ditch. Goodridge reported no injuries. Goodridge’s 2006 Nissan received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● 11:24 a.m. Shawn M. Ryan, 40, Darlington was arrested on a Probation Violation in Green County. Ryan was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains.
● 3:48 p.m. Ellen M. Cragg, 54, Cassville was arrested on a Valid Lafayette County Warrant in Grant County. Cragg was transported to Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and remains.
● Paul F. Benson, 53, Mineral Point reported striking a deer on Russell RD, Kendall Township. Benson’s 2023 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
On November 2:
● 5:34 a.m. Steven J. Zeimet, 48, Potosi reported striking a deer on USH 151, Belmont Township. Zeimet reported no injuries. Zeimet’s 2013 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
● 5:27 p.m. Georgia N. Garvey, 50, Cuba City reported striking a deer on CTH I, Elk Grove Township. Garvey’s 2019 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
Monroe Police
On October 29:
● At 6:03 a.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of 1st Street. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Gavin B. Vance, 24, Monroe, on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Vance was also taken into custody on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole for a probation violation, and was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
On November 12:
● At 2:40 a.m., officers were requested by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole to take an individual into custody in the 1000 block of 13th Avenue on a probation violation. Grayle L. Strothman, 36, Monroe, was arrested subsequent to the request and confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
Green County Sheriff
On October 30:
● At approximately 8:42 a.m., Deputies responded to the N300 block of State Highway 69, Town of Clarno, for a single vehicle accident Investigations found that a vehicle operated by James Cavanaugh, 58, of Monroe, was southbound when deer entered the roadway. Cavanaugh’s vehicle struck one of the deer. As a result Cavanaugh’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. Cavanaugh reported wearing his seatbelt, there was airbag deployment, and minor injury. Cavanaugh’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
On November 2:
● At approximately 2:26 p.m., Deputies observed a subject with felony warrants at a residence in the N2100 block of Allen Rd, Town of Cadiz. As a result, John D Redwine, 22, of Belleville was taken into custody on the felony warrants as well as an additional charge of Resisting/Obstructing an Officer. Redwine was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending a court date.
On November 4:
● At approximately 2:33 a.m., on November 5th, 2023, Deputies responded to the 100 block of E Highland Ave, Village of Monticello for a disturbance. Investigations resulted in Patrick Z Brunker, 22, of Monticello, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct. Brunker was incarcerated at the Green County Jail.
On November 5:
● At approximately 10:07 a.m., Deputies responded to the W1700 block of County Highway C, Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a verbal disturbance over a loose dog. It was also reported that one subject was possibly struck by a vehicle during this incident. Investigation resulted in citations being issued to the following subjects: Daniel W. Morrison, 53 of Brooklyn — Disorderly Conduct, Dog at Large. Jacob D. Morrison, 27 of Janesville — Disorderly Conduct, Malicious Destruction of Property. Raymond J. Hart, 67 of Brooklyn — Disorderly Conduct
On November 7:
● At approximately 12:02 p.m., Deputies responded to the W7800 block of State Highway 11, Town of Cadiz, for a car vs deer accident with injuries reported. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Herbert C Chapman, 83, of Brodhead was westbound when he struck a deer in the roadway. Chapman reported wearing his seatbelt and minor injury. Chapman’s passenger, Barbara J Chapman, 80, of Brodhead reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle’s airbags deployed and as a result of the crash sustained disabling damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
● At approximately 5:50 a.m., Deputies responded to the W400 block of Stateline Rd, Town of Spring Grove, for a car vs deer accident with injuries reported. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Savanna R Lamb, 25, of Brodhead, was eastbound when her vehicle collided with the deer in the roadway. Lamb reported wearing her seatbelt, no airbag deployment, and minor injury. Lamb’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
