Green County Sheriff

On November 25:

● At approximately 12:48 p.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of County Highway FF and Ladwig Rd., Town of Sylvester, for a two vehicle, non-injury crash. Investigation determined a northbound vehicle on Ladwig Rd. being operated by Dawn M. Love-Tempel, 57, of Darlington, failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle that was traveling eastbound on County Highway FF. Dawn merged onto CTH FF and struck the rear of a vehicle being operated by Henry B. Robinson, 52, of  Albany. Neither driver was injured in the crash and both reported wearing their seatbelts. There was no airbag deployment in either vehicle and they were driven from the scene. Dawn was ultimately issued a citation for Failure to Yield the right of way.

On November 26:

● At approximately 6:35 a.m., Deputies responded to the N7800 block of State Highway 69, Town of New Glarus, for a reported single vehicle rollover accident. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Abraham J. De Paz De Leon, 43, of Loves Park, was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the snow/ice covered roadway. The vehicle entered the East ditch where it overturned. De Paz De Leon denied injuries, reported wearing his seatbelt, and no airbag deployment. De Paz De Leon’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. 

● At approximately 9:06 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of Rechsteiner Rd and Towns Rd, Town of Sylvester, for a single vehicle accident with no injuries reported. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Peter T. Cline, 68, of Brodhead, was northbound on Rechsteiner and preparing to turn westbound onto Towns Rd. Cline reported his vehicle losing traction and slid into the stop sign. Cline denied injury, reported wearing his seatbelt, and no airbag deployment. Cline’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

On November 27:

● At 6:54 a.m., Deputies responded to the N3600 block of County Highway N, in the Town of Monroe for the report of a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Salvador D. Lopez Quezada, 30, of Pampa, Texas, was traveling northbound, when a southbound vehicle had crossed the center line and collided with his vehicle. The southbound vehicle continued traveling south. Quezada reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Quezada’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.

● At 8:33 a.m., Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6th Street, in the City of Monroe, to assist Department of Corrections Agents. Investigation resulted in Benata Pereira, 52,  of Brodhead, being arrested for a Probation Violation. Pereira was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

On November 28:

● At 12:58 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the W9700 block of State Highway 11, in the Town of Cadiz, for the registered owner having an active arrest warrant. Investigation resulted in Justin R. Myers, 46, of South Wayne, being arrested for a warrant through the Department of Corrections. Myers was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

On November 29:

● At approximately 12:38 a.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the N5200 block of State Highway 104, Town of Albany, for traveling 97 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone. Further investigation resulted in the operator, Carl S. Ruegsegger, 32, of Juda, being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol - 1st Offense. Carl was transported to the Green County Jail where he was later released to a responsible party.

On November 30:

● At 6:18 a.m., Deputies observed a single vehicle accident in the W6900 block of County Highway C, Town of Washington. Investigations found that Alaya L. Hummel, 23, Monticello, was eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle, due to road conditions, while negotiating a curve. Hummel entered the North ditch and struck a power pole. Hummel denied injury, reported wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags within her vehicle deployed. Hummel’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.


Lafayette County Sheriff

On November 21:

● 6:24 p.m. Meghan J. Fay, 40, Adell reported striking a deer on USH 151, Belmont Township. Fay reported no injuries. Fay’s 2015 Mazda received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 9:37 p.m. South Wayne Fire responded to S Warren ST in the Village for a gas leak. We Energies and a deputy assisted.

On November 23:

● 5:47 a.m. Michael R Hermanson, 58, Darlington reported striking a deer on River End RD, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Hermanson’s 2017 Ford received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 2:18 p.m. Michael A Mullahey, 48, Benton was cited for Tampering with an IID and Operating while Revoked on CTH W, New Diggings Township.


Monticello Police

On November 21:

● At approximately 6:56 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a report of a minor motor vehicle crash.  It was reported that a driver had struck an unoccupied and parked vehicle.  A motor vehicle crash report was completed.

On December 11:

● At approximately 9:08 p.m., Officers responded to the 500 block of N. Pratt Road for a report of a vehicle fire.  Monticello Fire Department also responded.
