Green County Sheriff
On August 21:
At approximately 10:16 p.m., Deputies checked on an unoccupied vehicle parked at N3200 County N, in the Town of Monroe. The investigation resulted in Devri M. Bennett, 19, of Monroe, being cited for Possession of Drug Para-phernalia and Possession of THC. Bennett was released pending a future court date.
On August 22:
● At approximately 4:55 p.m., GRSO Dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle accident that occurred in the parking lot of Caseys at 101 Wis. 69, Village of Monticello. Deputies responded to the location and made contact with Thomas P. Deprez, 82, of Monroe, and Delores M. Turner, 74, of New Glarus. Turner advised that she was turning into a parking spot when she struck Deprez’s parked vehicle. Neither party reported injuries and each vehicle sustained minimal damage. Delores was wearing her seatbelt during the accident, and no airbags were deployed.
On August 23:
● At approximately 10:21 p.m., deputies responded to the Town of Monroe, for a domestic problem. Justin A Heimann, 43 of Monroe, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Justin was jailed at the Green County Jail.
On August 24:
● At 8:20 p.m. Deputies stopped a vehicle for following too close on Wis. 59 near County DR, Town of Monroe. Investigation into the top resulted in the driver, Laverne Helmuth 20, of Evansville, being arrested for Operating While Intoxicated — 1st Offense. Helmuth was cited for Prohibited Alcohol Concentration >.15, Automobile Following Too Closely, Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle and Underage Alcohol Consumption. Passengers in the vehicle identified as Loren Bontrager 19, of Evansville, and James Schwartz 18, of Evansville, were cited for Underage Alcohol Consumption and Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. All three subjects were released to a responsible party pending court.
Monroe Police
On August 24:
● 6:11 p.m., officers were called to a single vehicle accident with no reported injuries at 2nd Street and 11th Ave indicated that a vehicle operated by Kimberly Cross, 51, Monroe, was traveling westbound on 2nd Street, failed to stop at a stop sign, left the roadway, and collided with a fire hydrant. Both the vehicle and hydrant had minor damage. Cross was cited for inattentive driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Cross was released pending a court appearance.
