BRODHEAD — On March 27:

●  1:45pm, Police responded to the 2200 block of E 9th Ave. for the report of a Traffic Hazard; a box of papers in the roadway. The items were returned to their owner. 

On March 29:

●  10:29am, a juvenile was cited in the 2500 block of W 5th Ave. for Possession of Tobacco Products by Underage Person. 

●  12:33pm, Police Responded to the 1000 block of 19th St for the report of a Drug/Narc Violation. This matter remains under investigation. 

On March 30:

●  8:22pm, a 61 year old Evansville man was arrested and cited in the 2100 block of 1st Center Ave for Operating While Under the Influence (With Passenger under 16 years old), Operating Without a Valid License, Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle. 

On March 31:

●  11:00am, Police responded to the 400 block of E 5th Ave. for the report of an Animal Problem; a dog at large. The owner was contacted and a warning was issued.

●  8:13pm, a 25 year old Orfordville man was cited in the 1000 block of 1st Center Ave for Operating While Intoxicated and Failure to Obey Official Sign. 

On April 1:

●  2:03pm, Police responded to the 100 block of E 9th Ave for the report of a Hazard; disabled vehicle in roadway. Officers assisted in helping to move the vehicle out of the lane of traffic. 

●  4:10pm, Police responded to the 1200 block of 14th St for the report of an Animal Problem, dog at large. Officers returned the dog to the owner and a verbal warning was issued.

On April 2:

●  2:16am, Police responded to the 100 block of Juniper Ave for the report of Suspicious Activity; subject rang doorbell and then attempted to open front door. Officers were able to locate the individual and gave them a ride home. No other Suspicious Activity was found. 

●  5:40pm, a 30 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 800 block of W 3rd Ave for Operating After Suspension.

●  6:42pm, a 56 year old Brodhead man was cited in the 300 block of 10th St for Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and Non-Registration of a Motor Vehicle.

MONTICELLO — On March 19:

●  At approximately 3:38 p.m., Officers responded to the 600 block of E. Lake Avenue for a lost and found property report.  It was reported that the caller lost their passport at a different location.  

●  At approximately 3:45 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of N. Monroe Street for a 911 call.  After arriving it was found to be a “pocket dial”.  Everything was okay at the residence.  

●  At approximately 3:55 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of S. Pierce Street for a reported fraud.  It was reported that the caller had a large unauthorized purchase show up on their credit card.  A statement was taken and steps were being taken to dispute the purchase with the credit card company. 

●  At approximately 8:08 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office under mutual aid with a disabled vehicle in the N4500 block of State Hwy 69.  

●  At approximately 10:09 p.m., Officers were requested to assist the New Glarus Police Department under mutual aid with a traffic stop.  

On March 20”

●  At approximately 3:10 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue for a report of vandalism.  It was reported that during the early morning hours fireworks were lit off in the area.  Residents in the area also found obscene drawings that were spray painted on the roadway.  The incident remains under investigation.  

●  At approximately 8:09 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office under mutual aid with an emergency medical call in the W7200 block of County Hwy C.  

●  At approximately 9:25 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office under mutual aid with a motor vehicle crash in the W3200 block of County Hwy C.  

On March 23:

●  At approximately 11:44 a.m., Officers assisted the Walworth County. 

●  At approximately 9:27 p.m., Officers checked on 2 suspicious vehicles in the 400 block of W. Coates Avenue.  Everything appeared to be okay. 

On March 24:

●  At approximately 7:40 a.m., Officers received a report of a possible child abuse at an undisclosed location in the Village of Monticello.  No further details will be released at this time due to it being an active investigation. 

●  At approximately 10:00 a.m., Officers were requested to assist the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with an investigation.  The investigation is ongoing. 

●  At approximately 12:02 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic/driving complaint on State Hwy 69.  Officers located the vehicle in question in the 100 block of State Hwy 69.  

On March 25:

●  At approximately 6:02 p.m., Officers received a complaint of a child custody dispute.  While gathering the necessary information, it was found that that complainant and the incident occurred outside of the village limits of Monticello.  The phone number for the appropriate law enforcement agency was provided to the complainant. 

On March 26:

●  At approximately 8:49 p.m., Officers responded within the village for a medical emergency.  Monticello First Response and Green County EMS also responded. 

On March 27: 

●  At approximately 1:22 p.m., Officers received a report of an assault that occurred during the early morning hours in the 100 block of N. Main Street.  The incident remains under investigation. 

●  At approximately 6:37 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, Garrett K. Rufener, Monroe, was cited for suspended vehicle registration.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

●  At approximately 8:02 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop on W. Coates Avenue at N. Kennedy Street for an observed traffic violation.  As a result of the traffic stop, Alexa L. Thomman, Monroe, was cited for failure to provide proof of vehicle insurance.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

On March 29: 

●  At approximately 12:25 p.m., Officers assisted a citizen in the 200 block of N. Main Street with information on how to transport items that extend past the length of a vehicle.  

●  At approximately 2:19 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Main Street for a welfare check.  As a result, an adult male was taken into protective custody and transported to a medical facility for a mental health assessment. 

On March 30: 

●  At approximately 7:53 a.m., Offices responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a parking complaint. The vehicle was removed.

●  At approximately 8:08 a.m., Officers responded to the Montesian Park, located in the 100 block of N. Monroe Street for a reported vandalism.  The incident remains under investigation. 

●  At approximately 1:35 p.m., Officers received a report of vandalism to a residence located in the 100 block of S. Main Street.  The incident remains under investigation. 

●  At approximately 4:48 p.m., Officers received a fraud report where a citizen was frauded out of an extensive amount of money.  The incident remains under investigation. 

On April 1: 

●  At approximately 10:51 a.m., Officers responded to the 100 block of State Hwy 69 for a report of a passport that was found.  The passport was returned to the owner.

●  At approximately 5:09 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result, Charmaine R. Farrille, 31, Middleton was cited for speeding.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

●  At approximately 9:01 p.m., Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of W. Coates Avenue.  Contact was made with the driver and everything appeared to be okay. 

●  At approximately 10:26 p.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result, Wyat L. Bredeson, 19, Darlington was cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.  A valid driver drove from the traffic stop location.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty.  

On April 2:

●  At approximately 12:02 a.m., Officers assisted the Green County sheriff’s office under mutual aid with a suspected intoxicated driver in the N7000 block of State Hwy 69.  

●  At approximately 5:05 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  The Sheriff’s Office was investigating a motor vehicle crash that had occurred outside of the village on County Highway C.  

On April 3:

●  At approximately 12:38 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of State Hwy 69 and W. Coates Avenue for an observed traffic violation.  As a result, Olivia R. Zerger, 19, Madison was cited for speeding.  There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. 

●  At approximately 12:53 a.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office under mutual aid with two vehicles in the ditch.  This was located in the area of County Hwy C and Hammerly Ln.  Deputies were also investigating a possible intoxicated driver.  The incident was investigated by the Sheriff’s Office. 

On April 4:

●  At approximately 12:37 p.m., Officers were requested to conduct a vehicle unlock in the 200 block of Oak Ridge Avenue.  The vehicle was unlocked without incident. 

●  At approximately 12:50 p.m., Officers received information on a possible ordinance violation taking place in the 400 block of E. Park Avenue.  The investigation is ongoing.

●  At approximately 2:23 p.m., Officers received a possible parking violation complaint in the 200 block of E. Highland Avenue.  No violation was found. 

On April 5:

●  At approximately 7:16 a.m., the Monticello Safety Team with the assistance of the Monticello Police Department and the Green County Sheriff  Office conducted a bag search. Like we have done in the past, it was much like you would see at an athletic event or concert. Our safety team feels this is very proactive and positive not only for our school but for the local law enforcement as well. It’s beneficial for our students to see and feel comfortable with law enforcement in our school. It parallels our safety team’s vision to know and monitor what is coming into our school. Finally, it is a deterrent to anyone that thinks that they can bring inappropriate materials of any type into our school. We thank you for supporting our effort towards ensuring the safety of our children, teachers, and staff in Monticello.

On April 6:

●  At approximately 12:52 p.m., Offices received a complaint from a business owner that a dog defecated on the sidewalk in front of their business and it was not cleaned up.  After reviewing surveillance video.  The dog owner was identified and contacted.  The matter was resolved. 

●  At approximately 2:08 p.m., Officers assisted the Monticello Schools in the 300 block of S. Main Street with fire drills. 

On April 7:

●  At approximately 1:08 p.m., Officers received a parking complaint in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  A complaint was filed stating that a vehicle was parked in front of a business in violation of a 2-hour parking ordinance.  It was reported that the vehicle had been parked since 9:00 a.m. without being moved.  A parking citation for the violation was issued to the vehicle.

●  At approximately 2:23 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office under mutual aid in the N6100 block of Washington Road. 

●  At approximately 4:04 p.m., Officers responded within the Village for an emergency medical call.  Green County EMS and Monticello Fire First Response also responded. 

On April 8:

●  At approximately 12:55 p.m., Officers received information of some suspicious activity during the evening hours in the 500 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue.  Extra patrol will be conducted in the area.  

●  At approximately 1:07 p.m., Officers assisted the Monticello Public School in the 300 block of S. Main Street with lockdown drills.  These were drills only.

On April 9:

●  At approximately 5:30 p.m., Officers received a report of a possible fraud attempt in the 200 block of N. Main Street.  The investigation is ongoing.

●  At approximately 6:06 p.m., Officers responded within the Village for an emergency medical call.  Green County EMS and Monticello Fire First Response also responded. 

●  At approximately 7:53 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of N. Monroe Street for a reported suspicious person in the area.  The suspicious person was gone prior to the officer’s arrival. 

●  At approximately 8:07 p.m., Officers received a report of heavy black smoke in the area of the 700 block of E. Lake Avenue.  There was a controlled burn that had already been reported in the area.  

On April 11:

●  At approximately 9:56 a.m., Officers issued a notification letter to a resident in the 300 block of S. Garfield Street in reference to a violation of the Junked Vehicles on Private Property ordinance.  Follow up will be conducted in a short time to check on compliance of the letter.

●  At approximately 1:21 p.m., Officers were contacted by a landlord in the 200 block of N. Main Street who had inquired the process for evicting tenants.  The landlord’s questions were answered. 

●  At approximately 2:04 p.m., Officers responded to the 300 block of S. Main Street for a reported ordinance violation.   After officers arrived an illegal burning/fire pit was located.  The fire was ordered to be put out and a copy of the ordinance was provided for compliance. 

On April 12:

●  At approximately 4:47 p.m., Officers had received a report of a sexual assault that had taken place at an undisclosed location in the village.  The incident is currently under investigation. 

On April 13:

●  At approximately 12:47 p.m., Officers received a report of (3) dogs running loose in the area of the 100 block of State Hwy 69.  Officers found it was south of Hefty road and assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office.  

●  At approximately 8:29 p.m., Officers responded to the 200 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue for a 911 misdial.  Offices made contact with the caller who stated that everything was okay and confirmed that it was an accidental dial.  

On April 14:

●  At approximately 9:49 a.m., Officers responded and assisted the Monticello Fire Department in the 300 block of S. Garfield Street with a fire call.  Smoke was reported in the hallway to an apartment complex.  Burning food on a stove in an unoccupied apartment was located and was extinguished by the fire department.  

●  At approximately 3:59 p.m., Officers responded to the 400 block of N. Pratt Road for a report of a semi-tractor/trailer stuck in the ditch.  After officers arrived, it was found that a semi was attempting to pull into a drive when a rear axle went into the ditch.  The semi-tractor/trailer was removed from the ditch without damage.  

On April 15:

●  At approximately 5:54 p.m., Officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office with a reported hit and run on Wettach Road, outside of the village.  The Green County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

MONROE — On March 28:

●  At approximately 12:51 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the W6100 block of State Highway 11, Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the operator Shandrell S. Evans, 26 of Madison, being cited for speed (80 MPH in a 55 MPH zone) and Operating Without a Valid License — 1st Offense. The passenger, Samuel K. Tribble Jr., 24 of Fitchburg, was cited for Possession of THC — Less than 25 Grams. Both were released with future court dates to a valid driver.  

●  At approximately 3:06 PM, deputies placed Mariah L. Beck, 31 of Monroe, under arrest for an active warrant. Mariah posted her bond at the Green County Jail and was released.
