BELLEVILLE - Lillian E. Pulver, age 87, a former Belleville area resident, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. She was born on August 25, 1921 at the Harker Cheese Factory in Mt. Vernon to her parents, Fred and Bertha (Dahler) Gilgen. Lillian attended Verona Schools. On June 27, 1945 she was united in marriage to Huldrich "Huldy" Pulver at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Paoli. Lillian worked at the F.W. Grand store in Madison, and then was a homemaker and farmed with her husband and son, Harold, until 1971. Lillian was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ in Paoli. Lillian enjoyed going out for lunch with friends and playing cards. She loved flowers, especially Easter lilies and mums of all colors. In years past Lillian enjoyed dancing, especially the Polka, she would say, "I'd rather dance than eat." She was a fun lady and made many people laugh and will be missed by all.

Lillian is survived by a son, Harold (Barbara) Pulver; two granddaughters, Shanna and Shyla; and a sister, Alice Lubcke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Huldy; parents; a brother, Frank; and two sisters, Laura Gerling and Emma Gilgen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Paoli, 1338 County PB, Belleville, WI with the Rev. Sara Thiessen officiating with burial in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Becker-Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville, WI.

Dear Granny, God knew I needed someone who'd listen to what I said, who gives great big hugs and kisses on the head, someone who'd share, someone who'd care, and be gentle as a dove, so he created you Granny, and sent you for me to love! Love Shanna and Shyla.
