BRODHEAD - LeRoy R. Kesler, age 68, of Brodhead, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008, at his home. He was born on July 19, 1940 in Beloit, WI, the son of Ralph and Dorothy (Bagley) Kesler. He married Linda L. Reed on January 8, 1972 in Viroqua, WI.
LeRoy graduated from Beloit High School in 1958 and was an independent owner/operator truck driver for 41 years. He also was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, Brodhead. He loved being with his grandkids and gathering with his buddies for either coffee or breakfast.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, two sons, Lester Kesler, Loren (Angela) Kesler, all of Brodhead; a sister, Arlene Manthey, Beloit; a nephew, Alan (Patti) Manthey, Ogdensburg, WI; two nieces, Pamela (Ron) Pistol, Appleton, Sherry (Bill) Reynolds, Beloit; and six grandchildren, Billy, Aaron, Alex, Purety, Jade, and Paige. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Gerald Manthey.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Brodhead, with Pastor Larry Froemming and Pastor Ronald E. Massen officiating. Burial will be in West Luther Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI and from 11 a.m. until time of services at the church. A memorial fund will be established.
