Leona "Lestikow" Midthun-Wolf

Leona "Lestikow" Midthun-Wolf, 85, of Monroe, WI, and a former Cedarville resident, died Tuesday October 29, 2013 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI. She was born on May 6, 1928 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Marshell and Isabelle (Baucher) Lestikow.

She married James Midthun on April 26, 1948 in Freeport, IL, he died on September 21, 1989; she later married Roy Wolf on February 14, 1998 in Cedarville, IL.

Leona was a Homemaker, worked at Dakota High School as an in-school suspension monitor, and had been a rural, one-room school teacher from 1946-1948. She was a member of Cedarville Emmanuel Church. Leona's love in life was her family and her faith. She was a devoted mother, wife, and homemaker. She had many interests that kept her busy as well as providing a loving home for her family. In her later years she enjoyed baking Boston Brown Bread or cookies for anyone who stopped to visit.

Leona is survived by her husband Roy Wolf of Belvidere, IL; three daughters Dianne (Billy) Eisenhuth of Orangeville, IL and Sharon (Larry) Walters of Barneveld, WI, and Linda (Nick) Faessler of Juda, WI; three brothers Eugene (Phyllis) Lestikow of Ridott, IL, Russell (Barb) Lestikow of Freeport, IL, and Jim (Polly) Lestikow of Scottsdale, AZ; three sister-in-laws Dolly (Midthun) Fissell, Carol (Midthun) Coy, and Alice Midthun all of Freeport, IL; four grandchildren Brian (Tonya) Heldt, Mathew (Sarah) Heldt, Chris Walters, and Tim Walters; and three great-grandchildren Austin, Justin, and Paige.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband of 41 years James Midthun; one sister; two brothers; four sisters-in-law; and six brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday November 1, 2013 at Cedarville Emmanuel Church with Rev. John Ewing, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial has been established in her memory.
