MONROE - Lawrence "Durango" S. Wand, 83, formerly of Warren, IL passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Community Living Options Center in Monroe, WI. Lawrence was born on August 10, 1930 in Monticello Township, JoDaviess Co., IL. He was the son of Joseph and Hilda (Siegel) Wand. He was employed by the Warren Cheese Plant part time for several years. Lawrence also worked 25 years as a farm hand for Faye Teuscher. He also served as a caretaker for Elmwood Cemetery Assoc. He enjoyed mowing lawns and tilling gardens for friends and neighbors. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL.

Lawrence is survived by one brother Armin (Wilma) Wand of Monroe, WI, four sisters Darlene (Edward) Weber of Hollywood, FL, Evalena (Howard) Catoe of Lancaster, South Carolina, Twila Kraus of Janesville, WI, Rosalie Garland of Freeport, IL. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Laura, and four brothers Milo, Francis, Harlan, and Preston "Midge" Wand.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 7th, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, IL.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6th 2014 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home, Warren, IL.

Intern Pastor Barbara Otten will officiate at the services.

Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Warren, IL.

A memorial has been established in his name.
