Lauretta Mae Phillips, age 82 of Orangeville, IL, left this life surrounded by her family on October 24, 2013 at the Lena Living Center in Lena, IL. She was born July 15, 1931 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy (Bandi) Stelter. Lauretta married Glen Phillips on November 25, 1949 at the Peace United Church of Christ in Browntown, WI. She graduated from Highland and Northern Illinois University with a degree in education. Lauretta was a 5th grade teacher in Orangeville for 27 years. She enjoyed life as a mother, farmer's wife, and teacher. Lauretta was a conservation enthusiast and enjoyed spending her time outdoors gardening and bird watching. She shared these passions with her family and students, many who have retained the same love and passion. Lauretta leaves behind many who will treasure her love, friendship, and kindnesses.

Lauretta is survived by her husband Glen of Orangeville; a son Wayne (Diane) Phillips of Rock City, IL; a daughter Glenda (David Stocks) Hensal of Lena; five grandchildren- Kristen (Mario) Aguirre of North Aurora, IL, Kara (Brad) Dummer of Pecatonica, IL, Kiley (David) Yates of Janesville, WI, Korey (Christi) Phillips of Portland, TN, and Nathan (Karen) Hensal of Lena; nine great-grandchildren; a sister Annette Jaeggi of Twin Grove, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday October 29, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena.

Interment will take place at Lewis Cemetery in Browntown, WI.
