Larry S. Johnson, age 69 of Monroe, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Larry was born January 14, 1944 in Monroe, the son of Chester A. and Alice M. (Nybroton) Johnson. He attended Dry Goods Box rural school and Argyle High School. Larry worked for several local contractors for many years. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Johnson of Arizona, and Jason Johnson of Monroe; longtime friend and companion, Connnie Thompson of Monroe; step-children, Ricky and Carrie Thompson, Corrie Gilbertson; step-grandchildren, Katlyn, Rheonna, Jacob, Austin, and Hunter; three sisters, Betty Albertson of Monroe, Adeline Zoller of Monticello, Sylvia (Bob) Rygh of Beloit; three brothers, Kenneth (Bertha) Johnson of Argyle, Robert (Pat) Johnson, and Chester (Jan) Johnson, all of Monroe; a sister-in-law, Gloria Johnson of Milwaukee; and his aunt, Arlene Hillberg of Chicago. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and David Johnson; and a sister, Sarina in infancy.
Private family memorial services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Adams Lutheran Church, rural Argyle, with burial to follow in the Adams Lutheran Church Cemetery.
