Kenneth Martin Mayer Jr. passed away on May 28, 2008 in Satellite Beach, Florida, surrounded by his family. Ken was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, on December 3, 1943, the first born son of Kenneth and Clara (Rygh) Mayer Sr. He was raised on Argyle Road and attended schools in Monroe, graduating from Monroe High School in 1961. Shortly after graduation, Ken enlisted in the Navy and served his country for 20 years. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed by Grumman Aerospace Corporation in Satellite Beach. Thereafter, he enjoyed his time with friends while working at Satellite Beach Bait and Tackle.
Ken is survived by wife, Diane and children, Ryan and Kayde and Michelle and Melissa, from his first marriage. He is further survived by his brother, Michael (Laura Fenley) Mayer, sisters Dina (James) Stoenner, Mary Sundberg, Ellyn (Joseph) Williams and Margaret (Keith) Thompson, aunt and uncle, Mrs. Evelyn Hulstedt, Arthur (Betty) Rygh as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care given Ken by his youngest sister, Margaret, while in the Holmes Memorial Regional Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents and many extended family members. He leaves behind friends and family who will miss him.
A memorial service was held for Ken at Pelican Beach Park in Satellite Beach, FL on June 3, 2008. MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
