BRODHEAD - Kay Bussey, age 66, of Brodhead, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.

She was born on March 7, 1945 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Donald E. and Carole M. (Leopold) Moore. She married Richard P. Bussey on November 23, 1968 in Rockford, IL.

Kay graduated from Brodhead High School in 1963. She worked as a waitress and a cook in the Brodhead area and also had owned Katie's Kitchen in Orfordville, WI. She cleaned businesses and homes in the Brodhead area and loved catering weddings. She was a member of the Living Word Church of Brodhead and The Mary Martha's of the church. She also had belonged to the Tuesday Morning Bowling League, babysat many children, loved playing games. Kay's best attribute was helping people. She loved being with family.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, Brodhead, two sons; Rick (Candace Hartin) Bussey, Monroe, Jason (Kathleen Quam) Bussey, Brodhead, sisters; Kathy Haberman, Brodhead, Laurie (Kevin) Reigle, Janesville, a brother, David Moore, Monroe, two grandchildren; Lauren and Hannah, stepmother, Florence Moore, Beloit, and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lisa, in infancy, brothers-in-law; Larry Haberman, Norbert, Gerry, Kenneth, Robert Gilbertson, and a sister-in-law, Jana Widel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Living Word Church, Brodhead, with Pastor Rob Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2011, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
