Kathryn M. "Kay" Tschanz of Lake Forest, was born on September 3, 1921 in Monroe, Wisconsin. She passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard, on June 24, 2010. She is survived by sons John (Rita), Charles (Anne), Thomas (Anne), daughter Mary Kay, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and by her brother Francis Thorpe who resides in Monroe, WI. She was preceded in death by her father Patrick Thorpe, her mother Grace, and her sisters Rosemary and Patricia. Kathryn grew up and attended grammar school and high school in Monroe. She started working for the Carl Marty cheese company in Monroe in 1940, and continued with the Company until her marriage to Willard Tschanz in 1946, following his return from Europe with the US Navy following the end of World War II. Kathryn was always active in the parish life of the Catholic Churches in each of the family hometowns, and dedicated her life to the formation of her family. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary in Lake Forest since 1966. Visitation was held Wednesday, November 10th at Wenban Funeral Home in Lake Forest. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11th in the Church of St. Mary 175 East Illinois Rd in Lake Forest, IL 60045. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe Wisconsin on Friday November 12th.
