JANESVILLE - Kathleen E. Ayen passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Feb. 10, 2012, at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home. She was 87. She was born on March 16, 1924, to Riley and Katherine (Jones) Walrack near Blanchardville, WI. On Aug. 10, 1939, she married Otis L. Ayen in Dubuque, IA. Together they raised six children. They were married nearly 60 years. Otis preceded her in death on May 14, 1999. Kathleen worked for the School for the Visually Handicapped and Gibbs Mfg. in Janesville for several years.
Kathleen was a loving Mom and Grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She made each grandchild feel very special and they loved spending time with her. She loved animals and had many family pets through the years. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She was a very kind and caring person and enjoyed sending out numerous cards and letters to her friends and family.
Kathleen is survived by her children: Richard (Elaine) Ayen of Janesville, Mary Ann (Cecil) Daly of Buckeye, AZ, Donald of rural Evansville, Susan (Richard) Tucker-Pann of Roscoe, IL, Kathryn (Michael) Schoenbeck of Janesville, and Barbara (Ronald) Arndt of Janesville; her half-sisters, Jean Stiner of Blanchardville and Julie (David) Harris of Argyle; her special sister-in-law, Leona Adler of Argyle; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; par-ents; brothers: Lloyd, Riley, Jr., and Clifford Walrack; an infant daughter, Nancy Jane Ayen; and her grandson, Billy Tucker.
Visitation will be at SAETHER FUNERAL HOME, Blanchardville, WI, on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, from 3 until 8 p.m. and on Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, from 12 Noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. at YORK MEMORIAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, near Blanchardville. The family would like to thank Mother Marie Julie, Sisters and staff of St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Kathleen and her family over the past several years. The family would also like to thank Agrace Hospice for their special care and concern.
