Karl J. Lehman, age 86, of rural South Wayne, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. He was born on November 21, 1930 in Elgin, IL; the son of John A. and Rose Marie (Schiesher) Lehman. He attended Illinois schools.

Karl married Dorothy Koerner and later married Evelyn M. (Johnson) Berget.

Karl farmed in the South Wayne area since 1972. He also worked at Advance Transformer for over 30 years, and was known for and sold produce at the farmers market and family farm with his wife, Evelyn.

He was a member of the St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Mary Alice Fenneken, Diane Lehman, Dale (Betty) Lehman, Steve (Carol Baumgartner) Lehman and James Lehman; step-children: Crystal Berget, Curtis (Kimberly) Berget, Kerry Berget, Carmen Johnson, Corrine (William) Wartenweiler and Kevin (Suzanne Robertson) Berget, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and family dog, Peanut.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, Dorothy and Evelyn, brother, Ralph Lehman; sister, Rosemary (Sam) Lind; and three great-great grandchildren, Angel Marie, Elijah James, and Daleany Sue.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 5th, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr., and 18th Ave., in Monroe from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

A memorial fund is being established in Karl's memory.
