Karl B. Goebel age 80 of Browntown, Wisconsin died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born May 31, 1932 in Darlington, Wisconsin the son of Edward and Geneva (Schwartz) Goebel and attended Darlington area schools. Karl entered the United States Marines Corp December 12, 1951 at Ft. Sheridan, Il, served as a Corporal in Korea and was discharged on December 4, 1953 at Cherry Point, NC.

Karl married Barbara Jean Carpenter on July 2, 1953 and later married Donna Welton Frauchiger on January 31, 1987. Karl was an Auto Technician for Badger Motors, Route Manager for American Courier Corp, Service Manager for Stocker Toyota, owned Karl's Auto Service in Browntown, was Owner/Operator of El Dorado Club (Nixon House) in Gratiot and Goebel's Inn in Browntown. He was the founder of Karl's Town & Country Boys band, a member of Tavern League, and member of Gratiot Post #9692 VFW.

Surviving are his children, Maureen (Jim) Wild Gordon of Oregon, Karl "Jay" (Sarah) Goebel of Monroe, Randy (Nicky) Goebel of Monroe, Mathew (Mareth Ellsworth) Goebel of Browntown, & Brenda Goebel of Monroe; step-children, Matthew Frauchiger of Sun Prairie, Pamela (Tracy) Hamilton of Monroe, Katina (Dean) Ethridge of Clarno, & Joshua Frauchiger of Monroe; sisters, Bernadine McGrath of Monroe, Rosie (Don) Lawler of Madison, Charlene Saunders of Warren, IL & Eleanor (Vernon) Gille of Gratiot; 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wives; brothers, Joseph, Raymond & Robert Goebel; sisters, Margie Spoerry & Ruth Judkins; and a daughter in infancy.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive and N. 18th Avenue in Monroe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe with Military Rites.

A Memorial Fund is being established in Karl's memory.
