June Miller, our beloved mother, went to be with her Lord December 26, 2013. She was born on June 15, 1920, the seventh child of John Patrick and Jessie Mae (Vance) Ward.

She married Uno Henry Miller February 1, 1941 in Monroe. They lived in Freeport, Chicago, and on a farm in Illinois with Uno's father where they raised food for the war effort. After WWII they moved to Monroe and Uno co-founded the Bruni-Miller lumber company.

June lived a full life with her family, her church family, and many friends. She and Uno took vacations in Arizona to visit family and golf with friends and their 25th anniversary in Hawaii. She treasured her female friends and they had many good times together.

June is survived by her five children: Sandra (Palmer) Bogenholm/Smitherman, Los Alamos, NM, Vance (Brenda) Miller, Monroe, Uno "Mike" (Jane) Miller, Paradise Valley, AZ, Stephen (Deanne) Miller, New Glarus, and Jeffrey Miller of Brodhead; by grandchildren Heather (Matt) Villaneuva, Holly Bogenholm, Stacey (Dave) Sromalski, Kelsey Miller, Andy Miller, Stephen Miller, and Kyle Miller. Her three great-grandchildren are Annabella Villaneuva, Kaysen Miller and Colton Miller, and her nephew is John G. Bruni.

June was preceded in death by Uno, her sisters Elizabeth, Grace, Frances, and Jessie Mae, her brothers Leland and Gilbert, and her niece Maureen.

The family thanks the several special women who helped June in her home for a number of years, as well as the staff at Azura for the thoughtful care they gave her during the past 8 months.

June (and Uno) were members of the Union Presbyterian Church since the late 1940s.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Union Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jesse Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home and Saturday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins.

Memorials may be directed to the Union Presbyterian Church.
