Joseph Thomas Wyss, 15, of Monroe passed away unexpectedly due to a automobile accident on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at UW Hospital in Madison. Joe was born on July 13, 2001 to Brian Wyss and Carrie (Stauffacher) Wyss in Monroe.
Joe was currently a sophomore at Monroe High School. He was a member of Monroe Avalanche and Monroe Coop High School Hockey Team, having started playing when he was 4. He was also on the Monroe High School JV Baseball Team. He was a member of the M.a.s.t swim team in his younger years, he also played for two All Star Hockey Teams, the Oregon Outlaws and The Verona Junior Jets.
He also enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, hanging with his brother and all of his friends and family. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Joe is survived by his parents, Brian (Carrie) Wyss of Monroe; brother, Alex (Amanda Putz) Landen; grandparents, Jane Wyss, Terry (Kathy Allendorf) Stauffacher, and Kay (Paul) Urban; great-grandmother, Anna Mae Gibbons; special friend, Mya Waterman; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Marvin Wyss; and uncle, Albert Wyss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor's Catholic Church with Celebrant Monsignor Larry Bakke officiating. Burial will follow the service in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Joe was an organ donor, to help other people in need.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
