Jeanette M. McCullick, age 81 of Albany, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Sunday, July 23, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. Jeanette was born on December 20, 1935 in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of Charles and Delphine (McKinney) McDermott. Jeanette and Bob McCullick were united in marriage on September 3, 1955 at St. James Catholic Church in Dayton, Wisconsin. Together they had six children. Jeanette graduated from Belleville High School. She was a homemaker who loved her family very much. She especially loved baking and making big meals for her family at the holidays. She spent many loving hours with her grandchildren, playing games, reading, & telling them stories. She enjoyed going camping, fishing, and doing puzzles. She loved to sew and could make her own pattern for anything. Jeanette loved watching and feeding the birds. She loved flowers and spent many hours tending to them and the vegetable garden. She was always canning or freezing vegetables or fruit. During the Winter she would make a lot of the fruit into jam and send it home with her grandchildren. She volunteered at school and church events and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Albany. Jeanette was known by many, as "Ma McCullick" and always had a kind word and a meal for anyone who happened to stop by. She was a selfless and genuinely good person.

Jeanette is survived by her children: Deanna Elmer of Evansville, Shawn (Sara) McCullick of Stanley, Kirk (Terri) McCullick of Hudson IL, Gay (Gary) O'Connell of Neenah, Corrine (John) O'Brien of Eastman, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sisters Jeraldine (Robert) Ihm of Hollandale, Joanne Hollis of Albany, Janice Schulz of Brooklyn, Judi Baker of Nevada, & June Frick of New Glarus. Brothers Robert (Kathy) McDermott of California and Ronald (Diane) McDermott of Brooklyn. Brother in laws Walter Anderson of Mt. Horeb and Ian Campbell of Belleville. Sister in law Donna McDermott of Madison and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; mother & father in law; daughter Shari and grandson Cody. Sisters Joyce McIntyre, Juanita Anderson and Jane Campbell. Brother Roger McDermott. Brother in laws Tom McIntyre, Gerald Schulz, David Hollis, Fred Baker and John Frick. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville with Reverend Michael Moon officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery Dayton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
