Janet P. Wiesenberg, age 75, of Monroe, died on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Monroe Clinic Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 4, 1941 in Blanchardville, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Arntsen) Ihus. She attended school in Blanchardville.

Janet and Gerald Wiesenberg were united in marriage on October 10, 1959 in Blanchardville.

Janet did home day care for many years and later worked at Swiss Colony.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Janet enjoyed going to the Casino, playing cards, her flower garden, the cabin at Lake Wisconsin, and most of all spending time with family and her dogs,: Cuddles and Sam.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald, of Monroe, children: Brenda (Harlan) Emberson of Argyle, Renee (Andy Strack) Wiesenberg of Monticello, Sandra (Steve) Flannery of Argyle, Connie (Dennis) Bartow of Monroe; 7 grandchildren: Amanda and Bryon Emberson, Kevin and Sarah Flannery, Jacob (Marci) Boss and Joshua Boss, Janean (Anthony) Anderson; 3 great-grandchildren: Elena and Emily Boss and Easton Anderson. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Ihus of Mineral Point; sisters, Betty Duffy and Grace Peterson both of Mt. Horeb and Marilyn Moen of Monroe; sisters-in-law, Pauline and Bernadine Ihus.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Jeremy Boss, brothers, Gordon and Donald; sister, Donna O'Brien; brothers-in-law, Edward Duffy, Maynard Peterson and Burnell Moen.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at SHRINER-HAGER-GOHLKE FUNERAL HOME in Monroe, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday January 4th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Private family burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.
