Janet L. Franson, age 81 of Monroe, died Friday, March 2, 2018 at Woods Crossing in Brodhead. She was born on December 13, 1936 in Ishpeming, MI, the daughter of Napolean and Alice (Hoyd) Pepin. She graduated from Ishpeming High School and then attended Nursing School.

Janet married Stanley J. Franson on October 17, 1959 in Ispeming, MI. They were happily married for 55 years.

Janet worked at Swiss Colony for 20 years and in "retirement" worked at St. Vincent De Paul for 15 years. She belonged to Monroe United Methodist Church where she ushered on Sunday mornings. Janet enjoyed card club with the crew from Freeport, bowling with her girlfriends, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by 4 children: Steve (Sue) Franson of Monroe, David (Amy) Franson of Dubuque, IA, Alan (Kathy Byington) Franson of Lime Ridge, WI, and Kathleen Franson of Monroe; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Gordon Pepin and William (Karen) Pepin; sister-in-law, Betty Pepin. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin sister, Joanie Chapman; brothers, Theodore and Richeld Pepin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 10th, 2018 at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 9th, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home.

A memorial fund is being established in Janet's memory.
