Janet B. Hardyman age 87, of Monroe, Wisconsin died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Harbor House. She was born February 12, 1924 at rural Blanchardville, WI the daughter of Henry T. and Clara (Dammen) Gilbertson and attended Loyalty School at rural Blanchardville.
Janet married Lewis Hardyman on November 2, 1943 at Blanchardville Lutheran Church and they farmed on Buckskin Road, rural Monroe for 52 years. Janet was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe. She loved being with her family & friends, and enjoyed embroidering, quilting, cooking, & baking.
Surviving are her daughters, Mary (Richard) Doeringsfeld of Platteville, Nancy (Russ Bethke) Daniels of New Glarus, & Margaret "Margo" (Jeff Schneider) Hardyman of Middleton; grandchildren, Amy (Sid) Doeringsfeld Fletcher of Charlotte, NC, Matthew Doeringsfeld of St. Paul, MN, Frank Daniels of Mt. Horeb, WI, Mike Daniels of Mt. Horeb, WI, David Schneider of Middleton, WI, & Andrew Schneider of Middleton, WI; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Lauren, & Alden Fletcher; brothers, Orville Gilbertson of Monroe, WI & Henry Gilbertson of Monticello, WI; and sisters, Lela Jenny of Platteville, WI & Dolores (Clarence) Jenny of Platteville, WI. She is predeceased by her Parents; Husband; and siblings, Hartford, Marvin, Tilman, & Alve Gilbertson, Bonnie Johnson, & Clarinda Berry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church 1025-15th Avenue in Monroe with Pastor John Tabaka officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Drive & N. 18th Avenue in Monroe and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church.
