James Francis Teasdale

James Francis Teasdale, age 68 of Freeport, IL, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 17, 2016. He was born September 7, 1948; the son of the late Burdette and Anna (Francis) Teasdale. He graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1966. Jim had served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a Military Police Officer stationed in Ft. Bragg, NC. He married Paula McAloon on June 27, 1970 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Shullsburg, WI.

Jim worked for the Freeport Police Department for 27 years beginning in 1971. He retired as Deputy Chief in 1998. He enjoyed golfing and traveling. He was also a Civil War enthusiast and an avid Sox, Bears and Badgers fan.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Teasdale of Freeport; daughters, Jennifer (Shanin) Solt of Pearl City, IL and Elizabeth Teasdale of Freeport; grandchildren, Brynn & Kennedy Solt and Gage & Cora Teasdale; brothers, Bill (Kathy) Teasdale of Veneta, OR, John (Sharon) Teasdale of Monticello, WI, Patrick (Patricia) Teasdale of Monroe, WI, Richard Teasdale of Darlington, WI, and Mike (Julie) Teasdale of Monroe, WI; sisters, Mary Ellen (Jack) Symons of Gratiot, WI and Ann (Jeff) Wiegel of Monroe, WI; brothers-in-law, Mark (Eva) McAloon of Freeport and Tim (Tracey) McAloon of Loves Park, IL; sisters-in-law, Lynne Oellerich of Maricopa, AZ and Susan (Tim) Decker of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Miriam and Paul McAloon; and brothers-in-law, Randy McAloon and Bruce Oellerich.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A time of remembrance will be held Thursday, December 22nd from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Walker Mortuary in Freeport with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 pm.
