J. Kenneth Taylor, age 90 of Darlington, WI passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. He was born January 6, 1928 in Darlington the son of Guy and Rose (Cassidy) Taylor. Kenny lived in Darlington his entire life. He graduated from Darlington High School in 1945. Kenny was drafted into the United States Army in 1945 and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands until he was honorably discharged in 1947. He then went to work for the Wisconsin Telephone Company until 1951. Kenny was united in marriage to Lucille Jaegers on July 1, 1950 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Argyle, WI. He also worked as a lineman for Lafayette Electric Cooperative, where he remained until his retirement in 1990.
Kenny is survived by his four children: John (Myra) Taylor, James (Becky) Taylor, Tim (Laurie) Taylor, and Patti Ann Taylor all of Darlington; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; one daughter, LuAnn Taylor; and two sisters: Fabian Taylor and Marian Ollinger.
Kenny was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington and past member of its church council. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus #10, Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel American Legion Post #214 of Darlington, Lafayette County Board, president of the Darlington School Board for many years, past president of the Lafayette Manor Board, and Lafayette county representative of Greenco. Kenny enjoyed horseback riding, riding around on his scooter, and spending time with his family.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet Street, Darlington) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington where military graveside rites will be accorded by Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church where a rosary will be prayed at 3:45 P.M. A visitation will also be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
